Beautiful place with amazing views. Exactly what we were looking for in our getaway

Lovely home and great for a weekend with friends, would definitely rebook

Had a wonderful weekend at High Grove! House and surroundings were absolutely stunning. Amazing views from lounge and outdoor seating areas. Catered to our group size really well. Pool and fire pit made our stay extra special as we didn’t really need to leave the premises. Beautifully decorated and maintained with all amenities provided, this house is a dream!

We had an enjoyable stay however we felt more could have been done to justify the hefty price tag ($12k for 6 nights) i.e. bins were full when we arrived, outdoor areas were not clean, no dish towels or laundry tablets provided. The house was clean on the inside but the outside needed some TLC. We were also shocked to see how close neighboring houses were and therefore felt disappointed with the lack of privacy.

Great stay for my family and I. The property was spacious, nicely decorated and in a great location, the beds were also very comfortable. Carmen was a pleasure to deal with and was very responsive. We really enjoyed the winery just a short walk away from the property!

We had a family gathering and the place was so comfortable and a great size for us all. Carmen was a great host 👍

Our stay here was fantastic. Great Location if you have a wedding at redleaf as you are in between Cessnock (with more amenities) and the venue. The location and sunsets are beautiful. There was plenty of room for all of us (8 + baby) and Carmen was a fantastic and responsive host. We would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at High Grove Lodge. Carmen was a fantastic host who has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The property is stunning and extremely peaceful. I’d recommend everyone to choose High Grove and can’t wait to come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carmen’s place! It was so clean and comfortable and surroundings were beautiful. Kids loved the pool and the space to run around. Beds were the best! Like sleeping on a cloud!

Carmen was nothing but friendly and upfront from the very beginning. We felt very informed and safe. Carmen’s property was exactly like the photos (although the scenery was MUCH better in real life) Lovely and clean place, including the sheets and towels. The extra bathroom (outside of the ensuite) is perfect for a place housing so many guests. We also received a beautiful welcome gift, which was very thoughtful and delicious.

we stayed at Carmen's to celebrate a special family birthday. Carmen was very responsive and helpful, allowing us an early check in to enjoy the pool in the good weather. We had 3 nights and didn't need to go anywhere. We used the well appointed kitchen and had the pool and lots of games to keep everyone entertained. The bottle of wine and chocolates were a bonus and much appreciated. Thanks Carmen.

Carmen’s place is a beautifully decorated and spacious home, perfect for a quiet getaway in the Hunter Valley. We stayed with our dog for a birthday celebration and loved relaxing by the pool and on the deck overlooking the vineyards. Millbrook Vineyard next door was a highlight, with friendly service and amazing wines and liqueurs. Carmen was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, even welcoming us with a lovely bottle of local wine. The home was spotless, and every detail was carefully considered. Highly recommend for a peaceful and indulgent escape!

Carmen was a fantastic host and I can see why she is rated a super host. Her home is beautiful, clean, very large and has fantastic facilities. The pool and ducted aircon are a standout. Will be coming back for sure and highly recommend the home. We celebrated my Dad’s 60th and hosted the entire family and the kitchen is so well stocked with every type of equipment you could ever need. Thanks for a great stay.

This house is immaculate! Everything you could think of is supplied and ready to go. The house is spacious and despite having 10 adults in the house it still felt huge. Every morning we each commented how amazing our sleep was in possibly some of the comfiest beds we’ve ever slept in. It was 40° so we spent 95% of the weekend out in the pool. The houses next door were closer than we had anticipated but the property remains very private with unbelievable scenery and sunsets. We also all agreed the kitchen/family dining area was the stuff of dreams. Thank you for being so contactable, organised, gifting us a bottle of local wine and for helping to make my 30th girls weekend the most wholesome birthday ever. We all appreciate you allowing to stay on your property!

I stayed at Carmen’s place for 4 nights with some family and friends in early January.
The location of the house was fantastic. The views were amazing and gave it a peaceful feel, however we were only 15 minutes away from Cessnock which had all the stores we needed.
The house is not 100% private as the neighbours are close by, however we rarely saw them and when we did they were lovely.
The house had everything we needed down to Mortein, aeroguard, cling wrap and foil. The kitchen is fabulous with everything you need. The laundry was practical as it led straight out to a hills hoist which had sun for most part of the day.
The linen, pillows and towels were hotel quality.
The pool was practical, safe and overlooked the beautiful views which was very relaxing. Couches were super comfortable and family room and kitchen over look the magnificent views. The large dining table accommodated us all.
I highly recommend staying here and would do it again.

We had the most amazing weekend at this place!
We were looking for a nice place to get away from the city, and this was the perfect choice.
The view is unreal. We had a little bit of rain and even like that it was gorgeous.
The host was very friendly and responsive to all the questions and request that we had.

Our stay at Carmen's was wonderful, just a shame the weather wasn't up to being able to use the pool after all!
The images and description were all accurate, and it was a great place for my guests to enjoy both times when we could come together, but also some alone time for those post-wine tour snoozes!
I would highly recommend Carmen's place for any group that is looking for a beautiful setting to get away that isn't in the thick of Cesnock or Polkolbin.

A wonderful stay, everything was perfect and the home and location were exactly what we were after

Excellent getaway in the Hunter from Sydney with 5 adults, 4 kids and a dog. Carmen was an excellent communicator right from the first contact up to our departure. She gave us suggestions on activities/food in the area. The house is accurately represented on AirBnb, very clean and tastefully decorated. Millfield is a 15 minute drive from Cessnock so it's a distance from shops/cafes etc, but that added to the charm of having a big quiet property. Unfortunately the weather was bad on our second day so we didn't get to make full use of the grounds, but we did manage a swim in the solar heated pool on the first day. Overall a highly recommended place to have a getaway in the Hunter!

We had a wonderful time and the place was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was superb 👌 our host was so easy to contact and attentive. Our two dogs absolutely loved the property to burn off energy.

The pool area is fabulous, with a great poolside umbrella to shade some of the surroundings and swimming area.
The kitchen is beautiful, amazing space to cook in alongside a generous dining table which fits everyone comfortably!

The living space has a beautiful view, very relaxing.

Plenty of bathrooms which are well kept and spacious.

Air conditioner works a treat!

Plenty of indoor and outdoor entertaining space.

There’s even a picnic table out on the grass area which is perfect for enjoying the sunset.

There are neighbouring properties either side, however one is a distillery run by lovely people - we did a wine tasting there.

Highly, highly, recommend this place. Great for families or for friends. We will be back!

Amazing place to stay. The new renovations that have been made, made the place even better than what we had originally booked and i believe theres future upgrades to come! Great views out over the vineyard and of the hills from the living room. The gated backyard and gated spacious pool area was perfect to keep the dogs contained and secure while we relaxed without having to worry about what they were up to. The house was one of the best stocked Airbnb's we've stayed at, every glass, cup, plate, cooking utensils you'd need and lots of them, plastic cups and champagne glasses provided for around the pool. The pool was clean and lovely and warm. the house was spotless. 2 of each garbage and recycling bins provided which was more than enough for 8 guests over Xmas. Carmen was extremely responsive to all of my messages and very helpful with anything we needed. will 100% be staying again and recommending to friends. Gutted to be going home!!

We stayed at HighGrove Lodge over the Easter break to celebrate my son’s 1st birthday. There were 5 of us plus the bub. The house is very spacious. Bigger than expected actually. All bedrooms are generous with very comfy mattress’s. The master suite is huge. Kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking / entertaining needs. Two living spaces - one larger room with recliners…perfect for dozing off. We had great weather and the pool was fantastic. Salt water - good for the kids skin. The views and the setting are very calming. Can’t fault it. Carmen is a great host. We would happily come back again.

Such a beautiful location. The pool area overlooking the vineyard next door is a perfect way to spend a sunny day. About a 15-20min drive to the popular Pokolbin restaurants/winery area but still rather remote and picturesque with awesome views over the valley. Super comfy beds and lots of space inside.

The HighGrove Lodge is incredible. You can’t look past the location and the exceptionally beautiful view overlooking the vineyards.
The house was so clean and beautifully presented, with all the essentials provided, right down to toiletries and a yummy bottle of wine from the Millbrook Estate right next door - it really felt like a hotel retreat.
We were blessed with hot weather so got to make the most of the amazing swimming pool.
Overall I would highly recommend staying at HighGrove Lodge for your next weekend away in the Hunter, Carmen was such a wonderful host and I can’t wait to be able to stay there again!

We had a wonderful stay at Carmen’s beautiful property. We took full advantage of the pool on the hot summer days and appreciated the pool loungers and outdoor umbrella. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We also visited the winery next door, lovely guy and purchased some bottles for home.

My family had the BEST weekend - HighGrove Lodge is in a great location - close enough to town and wine country but also secluded enough to be super peaceful. The house itself is so beautiful, very comfortable, and exceptionally clean and well maintained. HighGrove Lodge put us all in a great relaxed mood and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was our first time taking our 2 doggies with us on holiday and they also felt very comfy and at home. Carmen as a host was engaging, responsive, super helpful, hospitable, kind and a pleasure to deal with. We would not hesitate to stay at HighGrove Lodge again or recommend it to friends and family. Everything about High Grove Lodge was amazing from the get go! Location was amazing. You weren’t too far out of town but you weren’t too close either. The views were spectacular.
